Racecourse Talent Show returns with a £1,000 prize for the winner!

Calling all amateur singers, dancers, musicians, magicians, and anyone with a hidden talent! Hamilton Park is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated relaunch of its popular talent competition, Hamilton Park’s Got Talent (HPGT)! After an 11-year hiatus, the stage is set once again for aspiring stars to showcase their incredible abilities. Are you the next big star?

Applicants (aged 12 and above) are invited to submit their audition videos to Hamilton Park via [email protected], with entries opening on Sunday 1st September and closing midnight on Wednesday 11th September.

From those audition videos the competition will be narrowed down to just 10 finalists, who will be announced across Hamilton Park’s social media channels on Friday 13th September, giving them plenty of time to rehearse before the big final at the USave Utility Contracts Raceday on Sunday 22nd September, where they will perform live on stage after the days horse racing action.

The judging panel on the day, including special guest judge Crofty (Go Radio – Crofty and Grado at Breakfast) will have the tough decision of selecting the deserving winner who will be rewarded with a cash prize of £1,000, plus the chance to feature on Go Radios ‘Fresh Artist Fridays’ with Crofty and Grado at Breakfast. All remaining finalists will win two tickets to any 2025 Hamilton Park fixture of their choice.

And the music doesn’t stop there as singer/songwriter and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Cammy Barnes will perform after all HPGT finalists, whilst the judges deliberate the competition’s winner. Cammy Barnes has fast become one of the Scottish music industry’s biggest independent acts – after his hit single ‘Bonnies Song’ – inspired by his daughter – skyrocketed to number one in the UK iTunes Charts in August, overtaking Calvin Harris, Sam Smith and Miley Cyrus to the top spot.

Ashley Moon, Racecourse Managing Director, who will be on the judging panel on the night of the final, said; “From Tom Jones to JLS and Callum Beattie to GBX Anthems, Hamilton Park has hosted many of the UK and Irelands biggest acts. With the revival of the well-loved HPGT this year, we wanted to provide a platform for amateur performers from the surrounding areas to showcase their talents.”

“We’re always delighted to welcome new Scottish talent to Hamilton Park and Cammy Barnes is sure to put on a great show as the headline artist on an evening where we’re shining the light on fresh, local talent as part of our own search for a star. I’m especially looking forward to seeing how this year’s quality of talent compares to our 2013 finalists and would like to wish everyone who enters the very best of luck.”

Before the competition gets underway, there is due to be seven action-packed races throughout the afternoon with the highlight of the racing action being the £10,000 USave Business Energy Specialists Fillies’ Handicap Stake.
