Racing Report

JIM GOLDIE’S best season just gets better and better and the Uplawmoor trainer recorded two more winners with Lochnaver and A La Francaise at Hamilton Park on Sunday.

Both were partnered by Paul Mulrennan as the combination teamed up for a quick-fire double in the last two races at the Lanarkshire venue.

Lochnaver, a Frankel filly locally owned by Summerstorm Bloodstock Ltd, made all the running to scramble home by a short-head in the Sodexo Live! Party Nights At Hamilton Park Handicap while A La Francaise came from off the pace to lead late on in the Sodexo Live! Conferences & Events Hamilton Park Handicap.

Uplawmoor-based Goldie said: “They were both absolute peaches of rides from Paul and two completely different ones as well. He made all on Lochnaver and kept enough in reserve to repel the late challenge of the second horse and he then dropped A La Francaise out the back and she won a shade cozily in the end - she’s a nice filly and progressing all the time.”

Iain Jardine’s horses are also in decent form and he struck with The Gay Blade under Andrew Mullen in the Gartcraig Inn Always A Warm Welcome Handicap.

Sent off at the generous price of 12-1, the Dumfriesshire raider made most of the running to beat Caleta Sunrise by a length and a half.
