Racing Report

JIM GOLDIE was all smiles after Cosa Sara landed her third win of the season in the Hamilton Lookers Audi Glasgow/Hamilton Bothwell Castle Fillies’ Handicap at Hamilton Park on Wednesday.

Ridden by Andrew Mullen, the four-year-old led inside the final furlong before beating top-weight Ayr Empress by a length and a quarter.

Goldie said: “She’s in great form and a lot of the credit must go to the farrier - she’s had trouble keeping her shoes on and he has done a great job on her feet.

“She’s entered at Ayr on Friday night but I’m not sure where she will run next. Her previous two wins came at Ayr over a mile but she stays well and handled this stiffer course and slightly longer trip well.”

Lancashire trainer Stella Barclay and jockey Tom Eaves both recorded doubles with different horses.

The former struck with Ghostly and Sir Benedict while the latter was on the mark with Shaladar and Chinese Spirit, who is trained just a few miles from the track by Linda Perratt.
