Racing Report

JIM GOLDIE and William Buick were in great form at Hamilton Park on Wednesday as they both scored trebles.

The former struck with Rory in the opening apprentice handicap before Wickywickywheels and Shine On Brendan (ridden by Buick) completed his 57-1 three-timer.

Goldie said: “It’s been another great day and they all won well and in different styles too. Rory is still getting his head together but he’s gradually getting his act together.

“I thought Callum Rodriguez gave Wickywickywheels a great ride while Shine On Brendan was the third winner William has ridden for us.”

Buick, appearing at the Lanarkshire track for the first time in ten years, sealed his own treble on George Boughey-trained pair Inver Park and Simply Sondheim.

Inver Park could be Royal Ascot-bound after his romp under 10st 7lb in the Weatherbys Global Stallions App Handicap.

Newmarket-based Boughey, now three from three with his Hamilton Park raiders, said: “He’s a pleasure to train and has such a great attitude. The Buckingham Palace Handicap is an option providing he gets in but he’s certainly been impressive today.

“Simply Sondheim was in his first handicap and benefitted from being gelded. It was a nice performance as he is a horse who hadn’t been off the bridle at home.”
