KATIE SCOTT is looking for a big run from her stable star Gweedore as this year’s SkyBet Sunday Series launches with a record £205,000 card at Hamilton Park.
The Galashiels raider faces 13 rivals in the mile handicap and his trainer said: “He has done all his winning round Ayr and Musselburgh but it makes perfect sense to run in this as the prize money is so good.
“He was rated 65 when he came to us and now, seven wins later, he’s an 85 horse. We’re delighted to be competing for such good money and hopefully he’ll run well.”
Keith Dalgleish is well represented at his local venue and the Carluke handler is keen on the chances of Lady Lade in the 3YO sprint handicap.
He said: “She won as a juvenile over five-furlongs at Hamilton last summer and her first run of the season at Pontefract is better than it looks.”
The most valuable race on the ITV4 covered card is the £35,000 Sunday Series Sprint Handicap over 6f and Dalgleish also saddles recent Musselburgh scorer in The Thin Blue Line.
But there is plenty of winning form on offer from the opposition as Tim Easterby’s Ava Go Joe is on a hat-trick following strikes at Beverley and Ripon.
Lasting Legacy is a first runner at the Lanarkshire course for Newmarket trainer Charlie Fellowes in the fillies handicap.
And Richard Hannon, who boasts an impressive 50 per-cent Hamilton strike-rate, has a couple of raiders starting with Thunder Queen in the same race.
