Capital Theory is after more Hamilton Park prize money in the feature race on Friday night. Trained by Charlie Johnston and ridden by Joe Fanning, he faces five rivals in the £30,000 Precon Braveheart Handicap over 1m 4f. His owner Dr Jim Walker said: “We were delighted with his win in the Buttonhook Handicap over slightly further and this was the obvious race to come back for. He won well that day and hopefully he will go close again under his 5lb penalty.” Bottom-weight Navarre Express, trained in Cheshire by Hugo Palmer, could be a threat as she makes her first appearance of the season. Scottish interest comes in her shape of Massai Mara and Faylaq, who are trained by Jim Goldie and Iain Jardine respectively. Jardine’s Catherine Chroi goes for a four-timer under a 10lb penalty in the Precon William Wallace Handicap over six furlongs. Local trainer Linda Perratt is double-represented by Sixcor and Mews House in the PDM Buildbase Scotland Apprentice Handicap. When trained by Rebecca Menzies, Mews House was the winner of the same race last year by neck.
