THRILLING NEW SEASON AWAITS AT HAMILTON PARK RACECOURSE

With record-breaking prize money and new-look facilities, Hamilton Park Racecourse’s 2017 season is charging into action this weekend.

Proceedings will officially kick off at the premier Lanarkshire venue on Sunday 7 May with the Totepool Family Raceday – where kids go free!

The first of 18 exciting fixtures this season, it’s truly an affair for the whole family, combining top class racing with a host of fun-filled, free activities for kids.

On the track there’s a seven race card with £88,000 in prize money on other including the £30,000 Totepool Tangerine Trees Conditions Stakes (Class 2) and the £20,000 Totepool Buttonhook Handicap Stakes (Class 3). The season’s overall £1.2million prize fund breaks the £1million mark for the first time in the racecourse’s history.

Visitors on the opening day of the season will also be the first to experience the venues refurbished grandstand restaurant and bar facilities following major investment over the winter.

Racegoers can enjoy the action off the course from 12noon with Human Demolition, The Avalanche Wall, HD golf and racing simulators making their racecourse debuts, and joining firm family favourites laser tag, bungee trampolines, face painting and much more, all of which are included in the ticket price.

Gates open at 12noon on the day, with thoroughbred action getting underway at 1.35pm.  The day’s feature races from Hamilton are also being broadcast on STV alongside the 1000 Guineas meeting at Newmarket.
