WICKYWICKYWHEELS led home a 1-2 for Jim Goldie in the £100,000 Phoenix Utilities Ltd Lanark Silver Bell at Hamilton Park on Friday night.

Sent off at 14-1, the Tadhg O’Shea ridden filly held on by a neck from stable companion Sir Chauvelin, who stayed on strongly from off the pace.

Winning owner and breeder Jimmy Long said: “That was simply unbelievable and a dream come true - for once I’m both emotional and speechless! She done fantastically well to win four races here before tonight on unsuitable ground.

“I think we will sit down with Jim and look for some Black Type for her now. Then, later on next year, she could go for the Sheema Classic in Dubai.”

Goldie reached a new best seasonal score of 47 as Shine On Brendan and Aighear made it a 318-1 treble for the Uplawmoor trainer.

Pink Carnation, trained by Archie Watson, was an impressive winner of the Euan Anderson Of Elmwood Projects Memorial EBF Fillies’ Handicap.

Jockey Danny Tudhope said: “All credit to Archie as she has really strengthened up since Ascot. She’s seen the trip very well and properly quickened on what is soft ground. She’s lightly-raced and a nice prospect to look forward to.”
