JEDD O’KEEFFE is hoping for more Hamilton Park success with Jack Garritty-ridden Air Raid in the £30,000 feature race at the Lanarkshire venue on Thursday.

Trained in Middleham, the seven-year-old faces ten rivals in the Class 2 Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Clyde Handicap over six-furlongs.

O’Keeffe said: “He’s won on three of his four visits to Hamilton so clearly he loves the track and he just needs a bit of nice ground. Jack gets on well with him too as they have won five times together. He’s a horse we’ve always liked and he was just my second first-time out two-year-old winner when he went in on his debut at Thirsk in 2017.”

Rivals to Air Raid include Mark and Charlie Johnston-trained I’m A Gambler, who has won all three races he has contested at Hamilton Park. The trio of wins, two last year and the latest in early May, all came over course and distance and he reappears quickly under a 6lb penalty for a near four-length romp at Beverley on Saturday.

Richard Fahey’s Strike Red and Call Me Ginger, trained by bang-in-form Jim Goldie, are two other course and distance scorers in a fiercely-competitive line-up.
