The team at Hamilton Park is celebrating this week after scooping a coveted industry award at a prestigious awards ceremony, hosted at the Lanarkshire venue as reigning champion racecourse. The accolade was awarded in the Operational Excellence category at the tenth RCA Showcase & Awards for the successful development of the onsite Hampton by Hilton hotel, transforming the venue from racecourse to resort. In addition, the team were presented with Excellence Accolades in association with Visit Scotland for both Dukes Restaurant and their ‘Lovely Loos’ following the retention of their 5 Star Visitor Attraction status. It is the first time that the showpiece event has been held in Scotland, where venues from across the UK are recognised for showing “excellence and innovation” in customer experience.

Hamilton Park was also recently named among the best in the country for racehorse owners and will hold Gold Standard status for the next year. It is the thirteenth year in a row the venue has achieved the coveted status from the Racehorse Owners Association.

Across the sparkling awards night there were a total of 13 awards handed out by special guests, reigning Stud & Stable Staff Employee of the Year Catriona Bissett and ITV Racing and former Love Islander Chris Hughes, with the baton of Showcase Champion passing from Hamilton Park to this years’ winners Pontefract Racecourse.
