Racecourse extends an open invitation for their first ever Community Raceday, sponsored by local private hire firm Wellman Cars
Hamilton Park today launched details of its first ever Community Raceday, to be held on Wednesday 19 June 2024, sponsored by local, family-run private hire firm Wellman Cars. The inclusive raceday, which falls during the world-renowned Royal Ascot week, is open to all, with the Lanarkshire resort especially keen to welcome the local community, including those who may not have experienced the excitement of horse racing before.
As part of the initiative, Hamilton Park has extended an open invitation to all local schools, care homes, charities and social groups who are encouraged to apply for complimentary tickets to attend what is sure to be a great afternoon of sporting action.
In addition, the racecourse will be opening a Community Marquee, right next to the Parade Ring with a view of all of the pre/post racing action as well as complimentary tea, coffee and a selection of delicious cakes, courtesy of catering partners Sodexo Live!.
The afternoon is set to feature seven live races as well as the opportunity to take in the action from Royal Ascot, which will be broadcast on screens around the racecourse between the live action. Strathclyde Fire Service, Community Police and St Andrews First Aid will also be in attendance, showcasing their vital roles within the community through interactive demonstrations and displays.
There will also be the opportunity to explore the “History of Hamilton Park” with a display showcasing the racecourse’s evolution through the years, taking you through the early years of the racecourse and it’s establishment on Bothwell Road in 1926, right up to today. The display will include a collection of old photographs, gleaming trophies, historic racecards and detailed site maps, all offering a glimpse into the racecourse’s rich past.
Hamilton Park are also extending an exclusive discount to local neighbours within the ML3 postcode, who can secure a reduced price ticket for just £10 per adult with free admission for under 18’s when accompanying a paying adult.
