Jordan Electrics rocks up for a slice of history on Saturday night at Hamilton Park as he attempts to become the tracks outright modern-day record-holder. As things stand, his eight course wins - including four this season already - sees Jim Goldie's speedster tied alongside Diet, Hopes N Dreams and Economic Crisis, a trio that are now all retired. He gained his most recent success by smashing the six-furlong track record -  set by himself two years previously - in the G4 Claims Not At Fault Claims Made Easy Scottish Stewards' Cup just over a fortnight ago. Despite the ground being no faster than good, he stopped the clock at an incredible 1m 07:82, almost a second quicker than his 2022 time, and was allowed to take things easy in the closing stages by regular partner Paul Mulrennan. Dropping back to five furlongs, he shoulders top-weight of 9st 12Ib in his bid for glory in the £30,000 Cube Glass "Soba" Handicap in front of what is always a bumper Ladies Night crowd. Goldie said: "He was raised 4Ibs for that win, and i suppose it could of been more, but no one knows just what the ceiling of his improvements might be. He's also got winning form at the track over this trip and Paul knows him well so here's hoping." Jordan Electrics has also won at Ayr and Carlise this term which now sees him successful in 15 of his 70 career starts and amass over £140,000 in the process. In a nod to the eight-year-olds achievements, the racecourse management have named the evening opener the 'Jordan Electrics Handicap'. And it would be fitting if Tim Easterby's Temper Trap landed the spoils as he has bagged the last four renewals of this 1m 1f contest as well as securing another event at Hamilton Park over the same trip in September 2021.
