Jim Goldie is after a fifth win in the last decade in the feature race at Hamilton Park on Friday night. The Uplawmoor trainer saddles Lauren Young-ridden Humble Spark in the £30,000 Precon Braveheart Handicap, a race he has scooped in the past with Sir Chauvelin (2016 & 2017), Theglasgowarrior (2019) and Faylaq (2025). Humble Spark, a short-head winner course and distance winner in 2024 off a 15lb lower mark, faces stiff opposition from the likes of Charlie Johnston’s recent Southwell winner Elsass and class droppers Antrim and Majestic, trained by Karl Burke and Jack Channon respectively. Recent course winner Quiet Resolve bids for a quick follow-up under a 5lb penalty in the Luddon Construction Handicap. He was running for the first time for Alan Brown when scoring by a length over a slightly shorter trip twelve-days ago. Welbury is equipped with cheek-pieces in the Patersons Of Greenoakhill Handicap for Ed Bethell and Callum Rodriguez. The Middleham raider was a close second to an all-the-way winner on his handicap debut at Doncaster three weeks ago.
