AND THEY ARE OFF! – CELEBRITY CHEF JAMES MARTIN OPENS THE GATES ON RACING SEASON AT HAMILTON PARK
Thousands of racegoers descended on Hamilton Park Racecourse at the weekend (3 May 2015) as celebrity chef James Martin officially opened the 2015 SuperSeal season as part of the Sodexo Festival of Food and Drink.
Despite the weather, guests arrived in droves to watch a great day of racing combined with a culinary masterclass and live cookery demonstrations from the renowned TV chef.
James Martin – visiting the racecourse for the second year running – proved more popular than ever as he whet the appetites of guests with his mouth-watering creations. Delicious food stalls lined the grounds, adding to the occasion by serving up a menu of seasonal local produce for racegoers to enjoy.
The festival atmosphere continued as the racing got underway with a prize money pot of £80,000 being won across the seven race card.
